this features the men’s relaxed fit tee styled on a woman.

design notes: a moon jelly, pololia, reimagined as a vessel for peace, love, and tranquility. the bell holds hearts, peace signs, and lotus blooms in symmetrical art nouveau line work, and the tendrils dissolve into a falling pattern of hearts below. psychedelic poster energy meets klimt, art nouveau and the flat, decorative discipline of die fläche. clean and graphic from a distance, dense and rewarding up close. finished with the kailua hi woven sleeve label.

feel

100% carded cotton, 7.1 oz heavyweight, garment dyed for a faded, lived-in finish. soft but substantial, broken in from the first wear. the faded ecru gives the print a warm, sun-washed ground that keeps the color soft instead of loud.

men's relaxed boxy fit, full body length. dropped shoulders, wide neck ribbing with twin stitching, side seamed with shoulder to shoulder tape, preshrunk to hold its shape. runs oversized. take your usual size for an oversized fit, size down to bring it closer.

inspiration

this one started with a box jelly that had washed up on the shore. they're beautiful, but pack a painful sting.

we thought, "what if if didn't have to be defined by its nature and could exist on a higher plane (just like us)?"

a moon jelly has no fight in it. no sting worth naming, no agenda, no direction. it pulses and drifts and lets the current decide. on the windward side you find them washed up clear and harmless in the shore break, little glass domes the tide forgot.

so we gave it something to carry. if a jellyfish could pulse a message out into the water, this one pulses three: peace, love, and tranquility. the bell became a stained-glass garden, hearts and peace signs and lotus blooms, the whole drifting thing turned into a quiet meditation.

the lotus is the wink. it opens clean out of the murk, the same way the jelly drifts clean through it. the brand's whole double meaning, kailua and the state of mind, floats right there in the bell.
