inspiration

after a full moon or a storm, kailua beach sometimes gets peppered with little portuguese man o’ war.  the lifeguards throw up warning signs, trying to say “be smart out there” in one universal picture.

except the icon looks less like swimming and more like saturday night fever.

that’s where this tee comes from. the back graphic is a modified rendering of the actual warning sign, and it doubles as genuinely solid advice: don’t dance with man-o-war. they’re terrible dance partners, and if they step on your foot, you’re going to remember it.
